And I thought I lived in the dumps while living in the base? Yah I was there for a year training to fix our navy's old sea king helis before getting transfered to Trenton. One thing I missed the most is the climate. Lol didn't know you're from there?

I think you, me and cranberries follow a very similar timeline (Jan 2013). My MP inquired at CEM and they said I'm on queue for eligibility assessment although initial assessment is done. We should be near the finish line. My wife's meds have been extended by a month. She did hers on the 10th of...

Do Filipinos have a national identity document?

Philippines doesnt have a National ID document, however I did include my wife's postal ID in our sponsorship application. That seems to serve the purpose, as the country's unofficial de facto national ID (claiming packages in post office, ID for domestic travel in airport check in counter, etc)

I guess you're right. I was posted in esquimalt when I worked for the CF. Didn't see any poor folks in Victoria. Same observation noted in Comox, Nanaimo and Prince Rupert

Its just people who never experience cold Canadian winters will have a hard time imagining what cold really is. I was there before :p. People die of hypothermia if exposed to the cold, or loose fingers to frostbite or get really really sick from it.

I guess the best and cheapest way to buy winter clothing here is to buy used ones from the thrift stores (is. Value village, goodwill, etc) I was just there earlier and found really good ones. I found a north face jacket for Under $30 and a high end Colombia (3 in 1 inner fleece and outer shell)...

Sorry for budding in.. Here in Ottawa it ranges from $50-60 low end but decent and all the way up to $400-600 for down filled Canadian goose brand parka. Colombia's are approx $80-150.

Are you from Bohol? My Lola is originally from Dauis and I still have relatives in Carmen and Tubigon. Also went there for our honeymoon. Where in Canada are you planning to settle?

Yah tagum is right. If you do find a good one, it wud take soo much space in your luggage. I'd rather have that space for dried fish (buwad na isda in Cebuano) haha
