Calgary point of entry for new spouse sponsorship?

So if I go through Japan airlines, or United...which flies to San Francisco then direct to Calgary the port of entry will be Calgary? !!! That is good news we can sort of organize it ourselves. Thank you so much for that information. Do you really think a 2 hour layover in Vancouver is enough...

Calgary point of entry for new spouse sponsorship?

Since we are waiting for our spousal sponsorship to be approved (6 months done so far yay!) I am curious about point of entry tactics for helping to get my wife into the country via flights. A little logistics background is my wife lives in Manila and has never been to Canada. I live in Alberta...

what is Backlog? how it works for applicants of 2016?

We are on our 6th month now from Manila VO..and it has hardly moved at all :( Starting to think the 12-13 month average is a pretty accurate one. Although when we applied in end of January the sponsorship approval wait time was 32 days and they were finishing sponsorship approval in like 20-30...

Consent for access to information for GCMS notes.

I want to order our GCMS notes for my wife. I currently live in Canada and she is in the Philippines. Will she have to mail me a physical copy of the "consent for an access to information and personal information request" (IMM5744E.pdf) or will a scanned copy do? Snail mail is not fun at all so...

    Changing surname.

I don't suppose you know the process for updating passport with the CiC? Is it done online? Maybe if its not snail mail it can be done fast enough but keep in mind its the Philippines...they love their paper trail hehe. Again thank you so much for your help! We are already "in process" but its...

    Changing surname.

Thanks for your hasty replies CDNPR2014. It seems we have to make a decision quickly. I think changing ID's once in Canada will be a pain but we don't plan on traveling any time soon so name changing the PR card won't be a dire necessity. We have done more than enough traveling and just want to...

    Changing surname.

We are also traveling in 2 months will that be enough time to get passport changed as well as CiC updated? It does make sense to get it finished before her Canadian ID's are issued but will it be at the cost of a CiC delay in decision? Also if we do the name change on her passport while the...

    Changing surname.

To make it less complicated for the CiC my wifes passport still has her family name. She really wants to take my last name and make it more official. My question is would you recommend changing her last name and passport right now while CiC is processing our application? We are February 03, 2016...

Great reply :) I sure hope a small extension is available dependent upon when we get PPR. Or it just happens more than 1 month prior. I think worst case scenario is we get it JUST before we are ready to go on our 1 month trip...thus negating the entire trip because they would have her passport...

So we can only hope that the PPR is months before our trip in September 8...or after we return October 14. If not it will ruin our already paid travel plans? :( i hope there is a way to get an extension..if only for 30 days or something.

We had a similar scare with TB. The clinic for our CiC medicals found small spots on my wifes lung x-ray. They assumed Tuberculosis and as a result she became inadmissible unless it was proven she did not have TB. So what they did was a scratch test on her arm to see if she was positive for it...
