also according to nz police this thing is called "venting" and once they receive the disclosure form it takes 30 days for them to process it. But who know how long it takes sydney to sent the the form and start processing our files again. Ugh :o

hey I received the same email 3 weeks ago, I've emailed them 5 times since, no reply. So all I did was fill out the form, scan it and email it to them with a passport copy. They will then contact nz police and get back to u when it's done. I called cic and got told this usually takes anywhere...

the only update i got was a request for another police clearance even though the one i sent with the application is still valid.. now this is gonna put everything on hold and i can forget about getting the visa this year.. so frustrating :-X

So did I but apparently not! I've emailed them saying I provided the original certificate when I first applied (Mississauga) but they haven't replied to any of my emails... So frustrating! :'(

I have no idea!! Im pretty sure it would take a day or two if the case officer cared enough, but I bet they put my file back on the pile with the other applications and get back to it months later... Would it be possible to order it myself??

Bad bad news... So I got this email on monday asking for police clearance certificate for NZ, well I called immigration and got told it can take up to 6 MONTHS before they get the clearance from NZ? Do u guys have experience with background checks? I got mine on monday and haven't heard anything since.. Just wondering what the process is, how long it possibly takes, what's the next step etc..? :D

Thank u, I did what u adviced me to do and now all I can do is wait I guess :D One more question since u definitely know what you are talking about, is the PPR going to come after this, then COPR? Also do u happen to know how long it usually takes for these background checks to be completed...

Police clearance certificate for NZ! I just filled it out and attached a copy of my passport with the forms :) The fact that they decided to waive the interview is extremely good news cause money has been really tight the last 6 months or so, poor boyfriend supporting me this whole time :D...
