**NOVEMBER 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS**

Looks like we're in the same boat! Mine showed in progress on March 15th. Based on other timelines, I believe we'll see a DM within 2 weeks, and hopefully a PPR not too long after that! :D

    US outland applicants' thread :)

I haven't gotten my PPR yet, but looking at the different threads, it seems like American applicants (living in Canada or abroad) are required to send prepaid envelopes for their COPR.

Congrats on getting the PPR! I've noticed that too about ECAS and MyCIC, and I'm sure once we're through with this process we'll think it was silly to worry so much about them.

    US outland applicants' thread :)

It's just been about 3 weeks since you applied, which is typically the average time it takes to get SA. I'd say it's not until 5 weeks or so when it starts to become atypical, so no need to worry :D

**DECEMBER 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS**

I agree with Bcboundboy. Thinking of it logically, if your sponsor application doesn't have a decision made, then that goes both ways: he hasn't been rejected either. If there were something that arose to deny your sponsor approval, it would have come up and they would have contacted you. Since...

**DECEMBER 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS**

What is your situation, if you don't mind me asking? Can you think of any reason they would deny your application? If it's a straightforward case that has met all the eligibility requirements and SHOULD be approved, then you should fight for it. Hire a lawyer (much cheaper than uprooting your...

Oh, I see. I've only ever purchased one car, and I used cash, so I wasn't aware that the bank keeps your title.

**DECEMBER 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS**

Are you sure you put the correct email in the application? If you have a copy of what you sent, double check to make sure they have the sponsor's correct email address, since that is what they use for correspondance on Sponsorship Approval.

Does that mean if you haven't paid off your car loan in full, you can't import it? I thought it was as long as it's not a lease, and if you have the title, but I'm not sure. Can someone clarify that? I wanted to buy a used car before we move, but I won't be able to pay it all off for a while.

Thanks! :) Yes, I have a clean FBI check, and I've never lived outside of the US. I'm so excited, I'm going to start my job hunt now!

**NOVEMBER 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS**

Really? I thought they were all over the place when it comes to processing time. That will be great if I can get DM/PPR by the end of the month, since my birthday is March 25th...it'll be the only gift I need :D I didn't send them an inquiry because you said the email should be enough, which...

My background check is finally processing! My ECAS hasn't changed, but here's what MyCIC says: Application/profile details Where is this application? Can Husband Retain US Residency/Green Card After Moving Back to Canada?

Yes, it expires in February 2018, 2 years after he got it. When can he apply for the conditions to be removed? And does that mean it'll be unlikely for him to gain PR status again, in the future.

Can Husband Retain US Residency/Green Card After Moving Back to Canada?

Right, but what happens after that? Can he re-apply for PR later on, for example, 10 years from now? And will there be any trouble crossing the border into the US as a visitor?

Can Husband Retain US Residency/Green Card After Moving Back to Canada?

I'm not sure, how would I find that out? If it helps to answer your question, we were married for 8 months by the time we got his Green Card. Now, we've been married almost 2 years. I'm not sure if that's what a conditional green card is based on.

Can Husband Retain US Residency/Green Card After Moving Back to Canada?

What's a TRV? Also, he IS a Canadian citizen, as I've stated in the initial post. We've been filing joint taxes for 2 years now, with him as a Canadian citizen and US Permanent Resident, and it hasn't been a problem at all. Besides, me being a US citizen, I HAVE to file my US taxes, regardless...

Can Husband Retain US Residency/Green Card After Moving Back to Canada?

Based on that first link, it seems like he will have to abandon his permanent resident status. We could apply for the re-entry permit, but I've read that it usually lasts a year or two, and I can't say definitively that we'll be back in the US before 2 years. So in that case, what do we do? Just...

Can Husband Retain US Residency/Green Card After Moving Back to Canada?

Hi everyone, My husband is a Canadian citizen and I am a US citizen. We got married in June 2015 and went through the process to get him US Permanent Residency. He got his Green Card in February 2016 and we've been in the US since. Recently, we decided we wanted to move to Canada, so that we...
