    17+ Months Applicants

Something funny: before I gave up to follow up with my local MP, once (during the conversations with the MP office) one local rep. asked me: what is the rush? This was 13 months down the road :) To that local MP’s office rep.: there is no rush. Yet, YOUR JOB SUPPOSEDLY WAS TO FOLLOW CASES LIKE...

    17+ Months Applicants

I would like to share (out of desperation) my experience so far with IRCC. This is exactly my point of view and may not reflect that of many others who are waiting for test invites or or stuck in different phases of the application. I came to Canada about 17 years ago and went through the path...

I just got CIT0520e after passing the exam on 18th of Feb in Montreal Office

Your options down the road are limited to couple of things (non have helped with faster processing btw but they can give an idea of where things are): get an ATIP report for the physical files to see what exactly the officer has done to your file, then get in touch the local MP. And then if you...

I just got CIT0520e after passing the exam on 18th of Feb in Montreal Office

I think the problem with being issued any type of residence questionnaire is like this: it adds a stage which needs to be treated bureaucratically: first your response must be received, then it sits somewhere until acknowledged, then it has to be processed, then someone needs to make a decision...

    October 11th 2017 - Citizenship Applicants under 3/5 rule

How IRCC perceives citizenship applications: If you are non-routine: you are basically non-existent. They treat you in any way they like and they publicly announce it too. If you are routine and you have been waiting 17 months for the test: you are pretty much like above. They just won't...

Delayed Iranian/Middle Eastern Citizenship Applications 12+ (Petition to Sign)

12 months doesnt seem to be the threshold for many on this thread. We are talking about 17+ months (for some people without any test invite).

    October 11th 2017 - Citizenship Applicants under 3/5 rule

18 months and waiting. RQd. interview a long time ago. losing hope there will be any update anytime soon :( ATIP didnt help. MP keeps saying they will check but I noticed after multiple times of calling that they only checked with IRCC the first time I contacted them. They actually left the...

    Attending online school?

I had the same issue. I made sure that in the description of the program I put ONLINE in capital letters as the location where I physically were staying was a different province than the school address. I again explained it shortly in one sentence in my cover letter to be safe.

    +13 MONTHS APPLICANT

Same here. It seems they are so overwhelmed by the number of applications that they have found a new way to deal with it: not to bother to even care if people have been waiting for too long. At least this way they can focus on processing. The reality could be that it would take until Oct 2019 to...

Mississauga applicants to THE HONOURABLE AHMED HUSSEN

    +13 MONTHS APPLICANT

I am also now a 15+ applicant. Oct 2017 application sent March 2017 test done no update after that. MP office gives actually confusing info now, so I am ignoring them. CIC telephone line says waaaaaaiiiiiiit :)

Citizenship Application Referred to Citizenship Judge

@dpenabill I agree with your argument above. Why do you think that the judge sent the application back to IRCC for "reconsideration". Reconsideration of what? In this case the federal judge has clearly rejected citizenship judge's imaginary calculation. That doesnt give room for Hashem to have...

Citizenship Application Referred to Citizenship Judge

Please note that in this case the citizenship is actually NOT granted to Mr. Hashem. If you read carfully, the judge has granted the application “to be reconsidered by IRCC”. It is again IRCC who will have to decide which most likely will reject again unless they would change a policy (which is...

RQ versus Physical Presence Questionnaires, including CIT 0205

@dpenabill Thanks for the detailed info. I actually totally agree and appreciate all your points above. Your explanations about honesty, credibility and how the non-routine cases put a large burden on the decision makers makes sense. Yet, there are people like me here and there that due to...

RQ versus Physical Presence Questionnaires, including CIT 0205

I forgot to answer your question about why I might have received the RQ: I had extensive travel, self-employed history, short buffer days (less than a month) but that was the only way that could I have applied as I was both helping family abroad for a bit less than two years out of 5 and living...

RQ versus Physical Presence Questionnaires, including CIT 0205

@dpenabill Once again thank you for you response. There are couple of points about your argument above: you have mentioned that But "these days RQ is NOT common. These days there are so few reports of full-blown RQ it appears to actually be fairly unusual." I am not sure how you can make such...

Decision Made - After Judge Hearing

Wow interesting. This could lead to some potential policy changes by IRCC. @dpenabill you MAY want to copy and paste it on your RQ page as it is relevant to residency calculation.

Delayed Iranian/Middle Eastern Citizenship Applications 12+ (Petition to Sign)

The Iranian Canadian Congress is having a petition of its own. You are more than welcome to write your basic timeline and jump in. If the number of data entries is large enough, a petition could be initiated for that particular group. It is just that Iranians were singled out due to the vast...

RQ versus Physical Presence Questionnaires, including CIT 0205

@dpenabill Once again thank you for your detailed info. The thing is that I was so sure of my exact number of physical days (by having them checked 4 times) before sending the application and then asking 2 different friends to verify them (due to the excessive number of entries and exits) that...
