I am sponsoring my wife and received a AOR last Friday. I was just curious, when we land at Vancouver (subject to sponsorship approval!) is there a long and intimidating process for my wife to go through at Border Control? I am also returning after 16yrs, is there anything I have to to or say...

Hang in there! I sent my application of the 27th of Feb and arrived on the 29th. They sent me a AOR last Friday stating they received my app on the 19th of March 2012. Its a slow process, they will definitely have it...no doubt. Its a matter of when they get to it after all the coffee breaks...

Hi all, I sent my application to sponsor my wife back in Feb, '12. I just got an AOR from CIC at 0105 London time!! They said the received my application on the 19th of March 2012. Could I be added to March's spreadsheet? Thanks! Big wait for the sponsorship approval now! Hope its soon!

HURRRAAAAY! I got my AOR at 1:05 am London time! Finally, some thing is happening, dose anyone know what the average time from receiving a AOR to sponsorship approval takes on average? Good luck to all and maybe someone can update me on the spreadsheet. The application was received by them...

I think they are only bothered about crimes within the last ten years, i do not think anything beyond that whether serious or minor will have a impact. Anyone correct me if I'm ;) wrong!!

No, I just sent a polite letter asking what's going on! just got to keep on waiting.

I finally got through to CIC by phone...36 attempts later! They said the usual, call back in one week as my application was sent on the 26th of Feb. I'm giving up slowly. :(
