I remember about a news article stating that in the 3 weeks period in March since the stream opened, NSOI received around 600 applications. It is of course obvious that not all of the 600 applications received are going to pass the pre-screening. My take is this is why they continued to accept...

true...i think someone posted a link in this thread about in demand occupations in NS and IT came out on top....no wonder...

it seems like majority of those who received pre-screening emails are in the IT field....

i also found your case a bit odd...the other forum member, Boston Red Sox also received a refusal pre-assessment letter/email with the advice that his application will be returned and his file closed. i think it was the same case with another forum member (forgot his username)... in your case...

almost but not quite yet... applicant will still go through the assessment process, and if you turn out to satisfy all of what NSOI is looking for, then you get the nomination. put it this way, having the FN means you are one step closer there...soooo!! near yet still just a wee bit far...

yes, you have a point there...I found this post in this thread, NewPlan2014 and coolleo mentioned both recd the pre-screening emails but appeared to have applied for SINP too... this is possible based on the above info... this may also be a correct assumption....

that's sad....I thought you were just being upfront with your details rather than hiding it but obviously, it appears that by coming out clean the effect is on the reverse... I would assume you applied for Sask back in 2013 and only got their letter in January 2014...

hi, sorry to hear that, but, did they really mentioned about that in their letter as the reason why your application is returned? also, because as you said your file with Sask was not even opened, what was your response to the question in the NS application form about File Number and Result...

that is quite possible if the intention was to spread the 150 nominees across all eligible occupations.......so, until we receive any information coming from nsnp then anything is still possible...
