Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

Profiler, if you are still doing the predictions... I would appreciate a forecast, losing hope here... :-[ Our app was received on Jan 21, 2016; AORs on Mar 11 and Jun 1, 2016; and then SA on Jul 5 and AIP on Jul 13 (I'm in that batch of AIPs that were granted on Jul 13). And since then it's...

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

Automated message now says they're processing apps before Feb 10 2016... Anyone part of the July 5 SA / July 13 AIP batch last year has any updates? I now wish we didn't get SA/AIP so early so that we can expect to hear from them about now and see some movement...

Same! Still app received for pr application, and decision made for sponsor application. I heard from a few people that their status changed from app received to in progress, but still only app received on our end.

Thanks everyone! And thank you simpsol22, that's super awesome to know. He currently holds a PGWP, not sure if it works the same, but I will have him call CIC and confirm. We do feel like we might waste the $255 if we apply too early ::) It would save us a lot of stress if we can simply apply...

I sure hope so! Is it possible to receive owp within 1-2 months? He's working right now, so we definitely don't want it to be affected. It just feels so close, yet so far... lol Called CIC yesterday and they told us everything is fine and just wait... sigh

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

Congrats! We got married on the exact same date :D So DH's work permit will expire beginning of July. Given the current progress, I'm not sure how long we should wait until we should apply for his owp... I'm hearing from people that it's taking longer to receive their owp, so perhaps wait...

The wait is so long... I only call for the automated message lol, will get DH to call later and ask for dates since we didn't send in the authorization form to give me access to his files..

CIC automated message now says they're processing applications before August 31... Fingers crossed that it won't take them too long to go through the Sept an Oct applications... Edit: Listened to the message again, it said they're processing applications before Wednesday August 31, 2016?? :o

Hi everyone, I'm wondering if GCMS notes are still useful after AIP? My impression was that the file is passed onto local office after AIP, will the local processing progress be reflected on the GCMS notes - or is GCMS notes only done initially by CIC (non-local)? Thanks! And Happy New Year!

Any updates with folks that got the mid July AIP? It's over three months now, I thought AIP to DM wouldn't take this long.. :'(

I think it will depend on your plans for after your study visa. Are you planning to stay in Canada to work after finishing school? Applying inland will allow for open work permit, so you won't have to worry about not having a WP after your one year WP finishes.

Our thoughts exactly, that it would take one more month to complete if we wait for CIC to request. So we did upfront med after we received AIP. AIP was mid July, we are still waiting now. The ECAS site has updated to indicate med results are received, but we haven't linked it to myCIC yet so not...

OLD IN PROCESS VS NEW IN PROCESS ON ECAS EXPLAINED

Sorry, what is PA that you refer to? We also noticed our sponsor status change to DM today.. However, PR status is "Application Received", which is very confusing because we received AIP so I thought we should be IP now. We applied inland.. Edit: principal applicant, sorry, head not working...

For those with an AIP, does the ECAS Permanent Application Status say Application Received or In Process? Ours has always stayed as AR although we have a second record noting that upfront medical has been received... I saw some Outland applications with status as IP, are Inland apps not supposed...

It took us 50 days to receive our AOR, so I wouldn't worry about not receiving AOR yet at 27 days. Your OWP app is separate from your PR app, so your AOR is still on its way.
