Permanent Resident Travel Document - Share your experience here

Thank you!! This is good to know. We have a trip planned for Christmas and timeline is looking a little tight for PR card to arrive on time... We are planning to drive back if it takes too long to get a TD since we are only going to the US for 10 days... :-X

Can someone please correct me if I'm wrong - a travel document is needed if traveling by air, but if one were to drive to the border, they will admit you based on the granted PR status event if the person has no PRTD, right? I was told that it's mainly for getting on the plane, but if airline...

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

Hi guys, I checked online status this morning and saw that the Sponsorship Application Status has changed from "In Process" to "Decision Made". What does this mean? We have already received AIP back in July... Also noticed under the PR application status that they have received our upfront...

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

Thank you vaya! And I agree. I'm checking weekly now, but honestly if they don't regularly update I will stop worrying over these things.. as long as we've got the letters, surely we are truly AIP'd. :)

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

Hi guys, we have received our AIP in July but the online status remains IP for Sponsorship and AR for PR application status. It's been almost a month, is it normal that the online status has not been updated? Also, we went ahead and did our upfront medical, should we expect to see a "Medical...

    Leaving Canada while awaiting sponsorship?

My husband has a valid work visa from before the PR application. We went away for 3 weeks and came back with no problem at border. Had no idea that it is not recommended to leave the country, we have a trip planned for Dec already, fingers crossed again.
