    Hello from Scotland

Trevor did you mean to post your reply to me in the new thread too?! I'll add my timeline when I've got something to add - mind you, I guess I could add now, with nothing!

    Hello from Scotland

OK I'll have a look. I've posted on the RN/LPN thread but hadn't had replies as useful as yours. I guess coming from the same country helps, as we know how UK nursing works in relation to the Canadian job specifications.

    Hello from Scotland

Hi Trevor That's really helpful. I think we've got everything ready to go - just waiting for IELTS and police clearance, both of which should arrive next week, so we'll be ready to send application for 1st July. It says on the form that you can list NOCs in order of preference for...

    Hello from Scotland

I forgot to say - I think nursing jobs in Canada are different - here I do both LPN and RN stuff (looking at their job descriptions) but it doesn't sound like canadian RNs do much hands on I guess I'm wondering what your experience is, and how that fits with the LPN thing?

    Hello from Scotland

No, not private - I just wasn't sure whether you wanted to discuss your job on here! Thanks and here goes... Anyway, I'm an RGN/RMN and I've already started the process of applying for exam for Ontario, but on the advice of the CNO I'm going for the LPN exam rather than RN because I trained so...

What is IELTS like for an already native English speaker/reader/writer/listener?

Have you got a date for your test Donutbox? I didn't do any practice for my test - I don't think it is necessary if you are a native english speaker, but others might disagree - have you been given any advice about this?

What is IELTS like for an already native English speaker/reader/writer/listener?

Hi Donutbox I did the exam last week and found it on the whole to be pretty straightforward. In terms of the listening test, the main issue is concentration as you only hear the recording once, so if you drift off a bit you'll miss answers! I found the reading more difficult than I expected...

what is the difference between 'occupation' and 'job'

Yes, for the Background info form I will list my jobs in reverse chronological order, and on the Economic Classes form I will list my occupations. I think that's right?!

what is the difference between 'occupation' and 'job'

Thanks mni That's what I was thinking, but I just wanted to make sure I filled the form in properly. When I first looked at it I thought they wanted me to list my jobs, but then I realised it said 'occupations'. I will do it according to occupation. Fingers crossed!

    Immigration Acronyms

I keep seeing MI3, MI2, MI4 in people's posts. What do these codes stand for?!

what is the difference between 'occupation' and 'job'

Hi Alyssum Did you use one box for each NOC and combine different jobs in each one? I think that's what you meant, but not sure! I'm assuming your application got through the first hurdle and has been accepted for processing, so I guess what you did was right!

what is the difference between 'occupation' and 'job'

Hi Leo Thanks for your reply. I am applying under NOC code 3012 which is Registered Nurse. What I mean is that on the Schedule 3 form 'Economic Classes - FSW' question 11 asks you to 'list your occupations within the 10 years preceding the date of your application'. My question is whether...

BECOMING A REGISTERED NURSE (RN) OR LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN) IN CANADA

Thanks again hmisabpk You are being really helpful. I have another question now! I have posted it in a separate thread too, but maybe someone here can answer. In the Economic Classes form I have to list my work experience for the last 10 years, but they say on the form 'list your...

what is the difference between 'occupation' and 'job'

I'm sorry if this question has been answered somewhere already, but I can't find the answer! I am trying to fill in my Schedule 3 Economic Classes form. Question 11 asks you to list all your occupations in the past 10 years. Do they mean all your jobs, or all your occupations? I have been...
