Hello Everyone.... Been waiting now 14 weeks since we sent in our Police Check to Mexico city and still no passport request. We are desperate to be in Canada to enjoy the christmas holidays with our family so now we are going to rely on applying for the ETA come December 1st. Does anyone know...

Yes we are in Mexico now. It is not a mandatory orientation. Maybe re check your emails because another person received the same email today.

I see we almost have the same timeline! I received an email today from Mexico CityVO inviting my husband who is the application to a pre departure orientation. Did you receive one as well? We are still waiting for passport request

Hey everyone ...today we received an email from Canada immigration stating all my husbands application I formation. It was an email inviting him to attend a pre-departure orientation. Does this mean we may be getting passport request soon? We sent in our police check in August...patiently...

I've sent a handful of emails to CIC and always received a reply back about 3-6 days later. they just give you a very brief reply to your questions but they do definately reply back.

Yeah it just shows every situation is different. Technically all rules should apply for everyone. Our medicals are already expired and my husband is not in Canada. Like I said maybe we just got lucky or maybe the request is coming...who knows! Hopefully not! Good luck!

Okay I was just curious because above someone posted they got a request to redo medicals... but I guess every case is different. Maybe I just got lucky that they did not request new medicals. Thank you for your reply

I'm curious as to why we have not received a request to redo medicals. Our medicals expired on October 8th... we applied January 8th which is a couple weeks before you. Maybe a request is coming? Any thoughts?? Also we sent I. Police check 2 months ago....waiting for passport request now

Yep...I applied January 8th. I sent in police check over a month and a half ago and still waiting for PPR....Getting very frustrated here

Thank you for your answer. Yeah I think the cases vary. A friend of mine got police check request and a month later they got passport request also with Mexico City VO...they also applied in September... all I can really do is wait and hope ours comes quick ..thanks again!

Would I just call or email them to extend them? Or do they automatically extend them? Thank you
