they randomly update ecas, I submitted my medicals with my friend in September 27th , my ecas in process since 9th November 2013 , while my friend's ecas started in process In 14th feb 2014 , and we both still waiting for PPR no news ..

good luck waiting! expect the maximum wait so you don't get frustrated by then , but some people got their visas in 2 months after medicals when ecas became in process..

we are at the end of the trip to Canada now, but if I had better idea about the length of process I would apply to Australia.. I would get Australian passport while I am still waiting only for the Canadian visa!!!

maybe there is really a security check office and there is where our files are getting lost or stacked , it is where they finish a file in few weeks or they draw on them for a few months.. :D

no I don't know much about his ecas, btw even the in process doesn't say much, some people get in process for only 2 months then get the PPR, other people had in process for more than 7 months and still no news..

I have lived only in one country and still friend who lived in 3 different countries had his Visa before me!! so it is not always the reason for delays

I agree with you as logic to undergo security check first , specially that when I was requested medicals they didn't ask for police certificate or any updated forms , only the medicals and i5raj ed 3a2ileh but regarding they don't waste people's time for nothing , that is not accurate because...

some people wait for more than a year and they redo medicals , no explanation unless it is security check delays

do they mention in the email or in ecas when was the file transferred to Bucharest ?
