    flagpoling in buffalo??

My wife landed at Rainbow Bridge. We've always preferred it over the Peace Bridge because it is typically less busy. Commercial trucks aren't allowed on Rainbow bridge which probably makes it somewhat better.

sending application with fedex with Insurance?

You only insure things that have monetary value, as a safeguard in case the item is lost/destroyed. An application package will not have a monetary value. FedEx, while they might reimburse you the cost of the shipping, will not give you some insured amount if they lost your application.

    Tax filing

Hi folks, new to this forum, so I'm sorry if you've had to answer this question many times before. My wife landed as a PR in October 2013 and I'm just trying to make sure I get my ducks in a row so that we'll be eventually ready for her Citizenship application. I realize I have never submitted...

    Landing requirements

Make sure she knows the Canadian address of where to send the PR card to also, if it's not already correct on the CoPR.

Need Advice on how to return to Canada! Any input much appreciated!

This is changing March 15, 2016 it seems.... "Starting March 15, 2016, if you are a permanent resident of Canada and a citizen of a visa-exempt country, you will need to travel with your Canadian permanent resident (PR) card or PR travel document when flying to Canada. Otherwise, you may not be...

    Handwriting parts of application?

It's best to avoid it but I don't think it's technically not allowed (I could be wrong here)....it's why some of the forms generate bar codes, so that you can fill them out online and then print them off. If you run out of space in a box for an answer, you just attach a separate page and...

    Landing at the border interview?

As with anything, you can never say "nothing"....but in truth, the only real way you could be refused your PR with your CoPR in hand, is if you have a recent criminal conviction, or you give them reason to suspect that you deliberately lied anywhere on your application.

    Decision Made Newdelhi ApplicantQuery

Are you sure? The CIC site itself seems to say that if the child is born after April 17, 2009 (obviously, in this case), the child will be Canadian as long as the parent is a naturalized Canadian Citizen at the time of birth. Decision Made Newdelhi ApplicantQuery

I cannot say with any certainty what will happen. I know the CIC allows sponsors who are PRs to visit abroad, but I do not know how they will look upon a 4 month trip. It may very well be that they do not care but I have no real experience in this area. If they do not ask however there is no...

    Decision Made Newdelhi ApplicantQuery

Hi again, I just want to try and put you at ease somewhat...I've been looking up this issue of pregnancy during a PR application, and here is what I can best conclude: -Pregnancy, as stated, does not change the PR application itself. Unborn children don't have to be declared on any form...

    Decision Made Newdelhi ApplicantQuery

I'm not a lawyer or immigration consultant, but, if the CIC asks you if you are pregnant and how far along you are...it is NOT a good idea to lie about it, though I'm rather curious as to why they are asking. Unborn children are not part of any application process. No one can really tell you...

    Landing process timeline

Landing itself is fairly quick :) You show immigration your CoPR, they will ask you two or three very basic questions (have you committed any crimes, has your family status changed, things like that)...they will confirm your mailing address (for the PR card) and then stamp/sign your CoPR and you...

    How Long is the wait?

Wrong. All you require for a PR app if you are a U.S. Citizen is the FBI clearance...you do not need a State clearance.

How to specify Outland on application

I know I nearly did :) In the end I rationalized that my wife wasn't really a RESIDENT of Canada (despite the fact she'd been living with me for three years by that point ;) ). I didn't find this forum until the app was in the mail. Wish I'd found it sooner. Also, notice that the terms "Inland"...

    Decision Made Newdelhi ApplicantQuery

Hello Bhuvan, As far as your wife's pregnancy goes, much depends on your own status, and where the child is born. Just being pregnant itself does not change the process at all, so at 3 months in there is no need to update any status at this point. 1) If you are a Canadian Citizen, the child...

How to specify Outland on application

The CIC website will direct you to one or another set of documents to fill out, depending on which link you click here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse-apply-how.asp Under 1. Get The Application Package, just click the link by "If your spouse, partner or dependent child...

Submitting my app while in USA? "Moving" to Canada after SA together?

Technically, there's nothing wrong with what you'd be doing. As a Canadian citizen you yourself do not have to be in the country to sponsor someone. The CIC site does state that you will need to demonstrate that you intend to return when your husband becomes a PR, so if there is ANYTHING you can...

PR Application - Background Check Timing?

I wouldn't recommend this. Not sending in your PCC with your PR application may cause the app to be marked as incomplete and potentially sent back to you. You won't save any time or get the ball rolling sooner by mailing in the app without the background check.

    Processing fee computation..... Need help

Beaverdiva has it right. You pay the $150. Each application has ONE Principal Applicant -- and that is your wife. Your daughter is a child of the principal applicant -- hence, $150. Also, as Beaverdiva mentioned, STRONGLY consider also including the RPRF fee (Right of Permanent Residence Fee)...

    entrance into Canada

I thought I had read in other places here that having a PR app in process made it HARDER to get entry into the country....or perhaps I am confusing that with people who are trying to apply for a TRV when they have a PR app in process? (which wouldn't be the case here as a TRV is not required).
