    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

I think the difference in Quebec is that the "spousal" approval is done separately - Quebec needs to approve the sponsor first. Once it's done the residency applicant gets a "CSQ" which is then sent to CIC. Many things in Quebec are different than the rest of Canada! As far as I know, all of...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

That is news! I shall check that out as well as I thought health care was only offered after the AIP was issued.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

Hi Alurra71, I have a similar timeline to you, but we've applied through Quebec so if you haven't it might be different... We sent in the application around Nov 25th and it's marked as received on Dec 5th, 2012, AoR Jan 21st, 2013. As for the waiting, we called CIC two weeks ago to see if we...

I think that's what we paid too - plus the $35 for the scan at the hospital!

    2012 Quebec Inland Applicants

Hi jg84, we're doing well, although stressing a lot! This slow down really has us worried too. It's been 7 months now since we applied, CSQ went sent to CIC in March, and we still do not have an AIP yet. We're lucky that we're together - I know some people are apart, but my guy would sure like...

Hi QuebecOkie! Where did you see that the strike might not be affecting Inland applications? I was so sad to read about the strike yesterday. It would be great if we could try to figure out if they are, or aren't affected. I know that the date for "currently processing..." hasn't moved from...

    2012 Quebec Inland Applicants

Hi Vananana, I had the exact same concern as you! I called them about 2 weeks ago and they confirmed they'd received it. I was also told they understood the messaging was a bit confusing. If you had your CSQ two months ago you're on a similar timeline as I am. I haven't heard anything from...

He's from Cardiff. I will admit that when I first moved over there it took me a little while to stop calling people "English", and I definitely fell into the 'un-educated-about-the-UK' camp myself! It probably doesn't help that when actors come over from the UK they tend to adopt the "typical"...

DECEMBER 2012 Applicants--This is your thread

Hi Sweden! Thanks for the reply! I've found a Quebec Inland thread, which is perfect. ;) I called CIC today and was told that they have received our CSQ, and that the letter from them requesting it can be a bit confusing. The guy was super nice and was quick to get the info I needed.

He does, and usually responds with "I'm from the UK". Sometimes they ask for clarity after, but that might also be an accent thing! The conversation can often turn into a discussion about what comprises the "UK", and of course "Where's (or "what is") Wales"? ;) He likes it here very much :)

    2012 Quebec Inland Applicants

Hi Tomorisu! It's great to know of someone else who is on the same timeline as us! :) It seems that some applications are going much faster than the 6 + 8 months listed on the CIC website. Here's hoping this trend continues :) Little update - I got through to CIC and they said they have...
