***JULY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS***

Hi all, Sent my application in on July 18th, so I think I belong here! I was approved on August 30th as a sponsor, and my American wife's papers are in Ottawa as of September 2nd. Glad to see others in similar situations to us, and thankful for the priceless resource this forum provides...

    Background check for spousal sponsorship.

Hello, Our application has been transferred to Ottawa as I have been given sponsor approval. We have our FBI check with us, although we submitted our application with a letter explaining its absence and proof of submission. What is the fastest and best way to get the FBI check to them and...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Okay, thank you. This is helpful. We have had the FBI check since August, so we should send it immediately to Ottawa. I see that the case specific enquiry form is digital. Am I to fill out this form and inform them what I'm doing and then immediately fax them the document? Where can I find the...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Hello all, I sent my application out to sponsor my (American) wife on July 18th. I have since received sponsorship approval, and they have been looking at her application since September 2nd. We did not send her FBI check in; in lieu of it, we sent a letter explaining the long FBI processing...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Welcome, ktorva! Hope you get a clear result soon! I have another question. My wife is currently trying to get notarized photocopies of her passport/birth certificate -- she says the lady that is helping her is giving her certificates of authenticity, but they are not on the supporting...

US Police Clearance: FBI Processing Times

Thank you for this post. I trust it is from personal experience? Have people successfully made it through this process if they supplement their applications with the FBI IHSR letter after the original application is sent? And if so, will CIC contact us to ask for this document or do we send it...

US Police Clearance: FBI Processing Times

I have only become aware of these steep processing times as of this morning. If it takes four months to process the FBI check in the USA, and then it takes upwards of six months to have our DM on our PR application, that means it will be (if all goes well) a year before my wife and I can live in...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Thank you for your help. We will try and identify her UCI number so it can be used for this PR application. Her VR was confiscated at the border on her exit date (once it expired) -- which I think is procedure, so we don't have access to that.

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Thank you for your reply! I'll ask for clarification, if that's okay. If she has not done her medical before (she hasn't), she will not have an IME. There is no issue using her visitor record for her UCI for the PR application? The panel physician seemed concerned that there was a possibility...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

I have also been flipping through the pages of this thread. It's really valuable that this exists, even for empathy's sake. I wish I could identify the exact page that would have answers to my specific question, haha. Great job, everybody. Hope to be another success story.

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Hello, I am a Canadian citizen, and my wife is American. We are processing outland, but we have not submitted our application yet. Her panel physician in Philadelphia is concerned about whether or not she is "in the system" or not. She has had a visitor record for Canada, therefore has a UCI...
