Yes it is suggested that you tell them that you are being sponsored. When you receive your extension, you may notice that the UCI number is on your visa extension as well.

I called into the call center yesterday. The agent advised that the information on my Ecas is completely inaccurate. she indicated that I have not been approved in principle and the Etobicoke office may take up to 12 months to issue a response to us. C'est la vie. Nothing else to do but wait....
