As long as you apply for visitor status before your permit expires you're fine. My visitor permit didn't come though until a week after my permit expired and I stopped working. I am also applying for an lmia

-update SC have cashed the cheque. Anyone know how long after they cash it do you get a decision? Any insight would be great. My application is finally being looks at!! Yessssss

This is great news!! Congratulations. It also bodes well for myself as it seems LMIA's in Alberta are getting processed much quicker than any other province.

I am crossing my fingers that i have the same luck as a fellow poster from alberta who was a manager in the service industry and got an approved LMIA in 13 days.

Judging from the the conversation i had with my employer, she was very irate and pissed off with SC, she has the same contact who, of the 3rd time of asking has yet to start the process, im hoping that it will be fast tracked but who knows with them? I'm going to have my employer call them...

Not sure. My employer said that she submitted "new" forms so I can only assume that it's with the new changes, yes.

-UPDATE. My application is now underway, my employer spoke to SC on monday, re-submitted the new up to date forms that were required with the new changes.. I'm still going to get my employer to call them every monday for an update as i still dont trust them.

Yeah, there doesn't seem to be a time Frame for anyone really, each case is assessed individually. I've seen them processed in 13 days. 3 weeks, a month. And so on and so on. Lots of contributing factors though that can change how long your application takes. Just got to keep on waiting!

Hi All, So with the problems i am having with my LMIA application i am considering going down the route of PR. Now, my question is, once i apply for PR and all my forms have been sent, do i then have implied status until a decision has been made? Bare in mind i have already change my status...

Do you have a case number/has your employer been charged the $1000 fee?

I am going to have my employer call every week for an update. i suggest anyone who has submitted forms a month or so ago and still not heard anything (case number, payment) get your employer to call them and chase up on it or it may take alot longer than anticipated.
