So after almost 150 days of waiting I receive an e-mail from CIC saying that my profile has been updated. I drop everything, rush to get my lap top, wait forever for the internet to connect and a browser to load (you know how it goes), finally open my profile just to find out that it's another...

I see lots of people being really upset with the processing times. And they all have a reason, their plans are getting screwed and nerves totally wasted. But has anybody seen ot heard about some sort of protest or a petition to the government? I know people protested in Montreal over spouse visa...

Just checked the web site. september 19 - it's for a new employer, paper application. Mine is same employer, online. Still waiting...

A_klan, No, they did not provide anything. And to be honest I haven't even thought of that. May be they would've if I asked.

I was also able to extend my health insurance while I'm waiting. in case you need it too.

I applied on September 4, online, same employer. Heard nothing from them. No updates in my profile. I am very frustrated and angry. If I don't get my extension soon - I won't be able to apply for PR.

You can even call them in order to save time. I tend to overreact and panic, so I decided to walk into the office and ask a person directly. It just made me feel relieved. Try calling first and see how helpful they are for you. Definitely worth a try.
