So does FSW in general requires applicants to work currently? Or you mean just FSW with LMIA needs to be working currently? I always thought FSW are just required to have continuous work experience before they submitted application?

Waiting for Background Check to start for quite a while! :( My current country of residence is US (not US pr or citizen). I'm wondering if they are gonna transfer applications of people outside Canada to local visa office, aren't US applications supposed to be taken care of at Ottawa? Or maybe...

Ash, it often takes 30-45 days for medical to pass. Since you applied inside Canada, as soon as medical gets passed, your background check will start instantly instead of waiting for more than a month like some of us! That's what we are really jealous of :-\

Perhaps it's a lot easier for cic to verify the authenticity of application for people already inside Canada. I understand cic probably consider giving PR to people with Canadian connection a more urgent task time wise currently. And indeed they deserve it more. Just wish somebody like us would...

Looks like most "pure" FSW people outside Canada first got their ITAs during March draws. And most of us are still stuck at "background check not started". Hope someone at least have their bc started soon!

I have medical passed several days ago. But background check not started. 2 friends of mine who are fsw outside Canada also have exact same status.
