Hey JustynLovesApril, welcome... it will take about a month to hear about sponsorship then upto 6 months before PPR. We got an email notification from CIC for my wife's sponsorship and an email from CEM for PPR.. in both cases My wife and I got the emails.[

We did not have a immigration lawyer. I agree with truesmile that they are an expensive double check. Like truesmile said if you are able to handle the documents and follow instructions then you should not need a immigration lawyer. If you have any questions about the forms you can always ask...

I have to agree with Tagnum, my wife and I tried to get a visitor visa before we got married (she has family, previous travel, a job, money etc) to fulfill all the requirements and we were denied. This is not saying you will be denied if you do apply, but the likelihood is high. The best way...
