I would use a ballpoint pen to make sure text is waterproof and will not smudge.

If you are going to request CAIPS make sure to select both CAIPS and GCMS in the form. Some files are part done in older system (CAIPS) and part of the same file is in GCMS. I dont think one is better then the other, just two different systems.

Best thing would be to submit it and keep a copy of it too in case they say they did not get anything you can resubmit imminently and not lose time.
