    HK or Beijing visa office

The visa office is determined by where her Houko is registered to. I suspect like Fencesitter that she did not switch it to Beijing as it is difficult to change a Houku. If you know that you will marry and apply, try if it is possible to change the Houku to Beijing. The processing times there...

RE: Spousal Sponsorship via HK VO

You gave them what they wanted. No news might be just good news and your application is being worked on.

    would i be in trouble???

I agree with all. Any possability to get into trouble can have negative effects on your application. It is a criminal offense to smoke and be in posession of pot. Who can guarantee that the friend stays straight when cops show up and say its his. He might as well say its yours and you are in...

After PR approval, how much time before you have to land?

We are in same situation. We did the medical mid November 2011 but sent our Application in April 9th. We certainly need a new medical. I think we just redo it mid November not waiting around for them to tell us as to not delay things further.Yes, it costs money but not having to wait is worth...

1/3 according to the data they supply now. If we compare the months on this forum and guesstimate the overall applications it will come down as there are less applications after January/February. I still target for beginning June/mid June. If it takes 2 weeks longer, so be it.

It is a shame that many Canadians have no clue how our immigration system works. I can relate to those who get annoyed by questions like" what, she is still not here?, I thought you would bring her home." or " why do you guys wait so long to come together? I thought she would come with you this...

    Hong Kong timeline

Hey Fencesitter, I looked up the lists from January on. Seems we are the only ones in 2012 to sponsor spouses through Hong Kong. So many signs show towards a rather quick processing compared to the last few years. Marty's timeline shows a faster processing compared to previous years too and he...

I would not bother sending emails. Each email may cause more work of reading it and take time away from more important things. I doubt that they even read all emails. Knowing or not will not change the waiting time. Enjoy your time with your wife and child. I wish i could beam myself to my wife...

One month gone already. yay. The first month was easy. The backlog might cause some faster processing at the visa offices by the time it is our turn. How is everyone keeping?

You can marry wherever you want. Your boyfriend has to apply on his own. You are a temporary resident, not a Canadian citizen and cannot sponsor him to Canada.

I am certain that we will have our rounds around beginning June. It would be a great present for our Anniversary June 3rd. Seems January was a very busy months with tons of applications coming in. I have read on here that the February and March are jjust 1/3 and 1/4 of Januaries applications...

proof pictures - how to send them?

I sorted pictures by event and date. I had over 200. Avoid pictures that are similar as it just fills space. I did bundle the pictures of same date and same event with rubber band. I added a index card with each picture bundle explaining the date, event, in some cases the names of the people in...

due date to land and option C

I cannot say much about the time line for London. Look for other threads on here or someone else will help you. But if you have documents and explain your income situation, its no problem to sponsor. There is no minimum income required but you have to explain how you want to support your family...

    Is it possible?

I have similar situation with my sister. It is difficult but if you can proof that she is the only remaining family member you might be successful. The waiting period will be long and you need good proof. I am not sure if someone can tell you exactly as there are many factors that play a role...
