    kijiji.ca and craigslist.ca are both invaluable tools for researching ahead of time. Gives you good ideas of what kind of apt you will get for your budget range. I would suggest, if possible, go check the apartments BEFORE you are ready to land.

    Great points mentioned above. What I noticed is that if you stay within the downtown area, or to the west side of the island, english is more viable. People at stores generally greet you with "Bonjour, Hi." to see which you respond in. If you respond in english, you'll be addressed in English...

    No, I'm in the states. Born here, lived here pretty much my entire life. I got my dual citizenship from my mom who was a Canadian citizen at the time of my birth. I'm not sure about inland or out, what do you recommend? Any benefit to one over the other?
