For family application, you need not send duplicate documents. One set of your kid's documents should be sufficient. That's what I did too. Also any one parent can sign the minor application form.

It doesn't really matter as long as the photocopies are legible. I have sent black and white copies of my documents. No issues.

As far as I know, your child is a Canadian citizen by birth. He/She can live in any country any time and continue renewing the passport in Canadian consulate. And also can move back to Canada anytime in future without any issues.

Sorry to hear that. Looking at the recent posts about the call center experiences, it seems that the call center reps are advised not to give any information unless the application is 24 months old. This may be due to the high volume of calls they are receiving.

Even if you are not applying for kids, you need to attach their education records. One of my friends did attach their kid's school records though they are not applying citizenship for the kids.

You can put the photos in an envelop separately for each applicant and write the name on the envelop. You can also write the name on the back of your photos if there is space. I didn't write the name on the back of the photos, just put it in an envelop and wrote the name on the envelop.

For 4 - You can the applications for your entire family (including children) in one package to the Citizenship Adult applications address.

If you have provided email address in your application, you will get only email AOR and a link to the study book. Only paper AOR will get a paper study guide. That could be the reason for the difference in the status.
