Lost IMM 5292 and few more questions

Yup, I lost mine too and applied in January for a VOS. I still haven't received it yet so CIC's six month timeline is aggravatingly correct. I applied for citizenship in January 2012 and am really hoping that it gets here before I write the test or take the oath. I can't say for sure if not...

    Our timeline.... for Calgary

I called CIC today and they said my file was transferred to Calgary on April 2nd...I sure hope it's not a 9 month wait, but if it is this whole process would have taken me 24 months from start to finish. Bang on identical to CIC's timeline. :(

    Finally, some progress and info!

She said my file moved in March, I was so stunned that she was being so helpful that I didn't think to ask for the exact date. It's just good to know I am in the system moving along....after so many months you start wondering if you haven't been "lost" in the shuffle. As for preparing for the...

    Finally, some progress and info!

Today I received a refund in the mail from CIC. I had no clue why it was issued, it only had a reference number and nothing else. Printed on the back of the cheque was a telephone number so I took a chance and called it. To make a long story short, the number was for the finance department...

Pr card expired for a long time

I'm not 100% sure on the proof of language requirement as I applied before that came into effect. My PR card and passport have both expired, I called CIC twice and they confirmed each time that they do not have to be renewed prior to citizenship. I don't plan on travelling while I'm "in...

How to requet a health claim records in alberta

I should have added that I didn't request mine for CIC, therefore the free statement was enough for my needs.

How to requet a health claim records in alberta

It's a super easy process and is all automated, I just received mine in the mail. Just call Alberta Health Services (google for the toll free number) and one of the options is to request a copy of your medical visits. Obviously you need to have your health care number but the process couldn't...

What exactly are they checking when we're in process?

I truly have no idea. :o I've been in process since November 2012 and CIC says my file is in Calgary. What exactly are they doing while I'm "in process"? I've lived here since the 80's, never lived anywhere else, went to school here, I work and am raising my family. My file is so basic I...

    RQ before test , timeline

It was totally believable until you mentioned the "nice" lady at the Sydney office....no way the CIC employs nice, helpful ladies!!! ;D

    RQ before test , timeline

I think someone is sharing their citizenship fantasy....sadly CIC will never be that efficient and fast. ;)

Lost Record of landing for Test PLZ HELP!!!

I guess the big question is when are you writing your test? I lost my original Record of Landing and applied for a new one last month, CIC website is showing a 6 month processing time. I probably still have months to go before I write my citizenship test (applied Jan 2012) so I'm sure (and...

Applying for citizenship with an expired PR card

I called CIC this morning to confirm and they stated that I do NOT need to have a current PR card or passport to complete the citizenship process. As a FYI, your original record of landing is required.... I hope their advice proves true, after reading all of the posts here in the last few weeks...

Applying for citizenship with an expired PR card

Thanks for the reply, $50 is a small price to pay for avoiding a RQ, which in my case would be a complete waste of time. I think I've left the country less than 10 times in 30 years.

Applying for citizenship with an expired PR card

Hi everyone, I've been lurking for a few weeks and am hoping someone can help me with my question! After living in our great country for 31 years I've applied for citizenship and am currently "in process." My PR card and UK passport expired 2 years ago which was the shove I needed to get the...
