    Job change during sponsorship process

Well, thank you for sharing your point of view. I guess I'm just overthinking this whole process. It worried me that in case they do find out my husband changed jobs, they would ask for updated info, etc. and that would delay our app. I just wish it all ends soon so I can go back home to Canada...

    Job change during sponsorship process

Hmm, it is true. But don't they do background check on all applicants, not just sponsor?

    Job change during sponsorship process

Hi all, I am sponsoring my husband and we are 3 months in after SA. He might need to change jobs - there is a crazy situation with his current employer, where he is not being paid on time. If he leaves and finds another job, do we have to inform CIC about it? Will it affect our application and...

Will non-residency for tax purposes cause problems with an application?

You are very welcome :) I have my entire family in Canada, so I asked my parents to write a letter stating they expect us both in Canada. They also stated in the letter that they would allow us to live in their second house to help us settle in. They also have a small business where I can work...

    WARSAW TIMELINE-Join here !!

Hi Sziha, Thank you for answering :) We had copies of our application, but just the night before mailing we had to do last minute changes. We were so stressed after 3 months of gathering of all papers, that I honestly do not remember some details about last night ::) And just today my hubby...

Will non-residency for tax purposes cause problems with an application?

Hello, If you are a Canadian citizen, declaring non-residency should not affect your application. Just make sure you provide enough evidence of your intent to return to Canada. You should also show how you will support your wife in Canada. I am Canadian citizen, currently living in Europe with...

    WARSAW TIMELINE-Join here !!

Hey there. I was just approved as sponsor on April 30th. May 6th our file was transferred to Warsaw. Did not get AOR2 yet. I also did not get an email/letter with my SA. Called CIC, they told me I am approved, but letter was never prepared and sent out. Strange. I also am worried that we might...

    Incorrect fee paid

Did you send you app yet? You have to provide them with original receipt for sure. Sorry, I meant you need to keep a copy of on-line receipt for difference and send off online receipt as well. There is another option to pay entire amount again, and they will refund your first payment. But...

    Spouse/Family Sponsorship Options

Your best bet is to apply to sponsor your husband as soon as you can. As Canadian citizen, you can live with him abroad and still sponsor. Just need to prove you will return to Canada. Once you are approved as a Sponsor (currently it takes about 2-3 months for this stage), he will have more...

    Incorrect fee paid

I accidentally paid $1000 instead of $1040 for my husbands sponsorship. Someone here advised me to go online to CIC to pay the fees page. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/index.asp Then choose any fee that would cover amount you still owe to pay. Keep the payment receipt, and...

    FEBRUARY 2015 OUTLAND

Hi Pete, did they tell you why it is going to be another couple of weeks before they send you an email with SA? Just curious what takes so long

Sent papers in Feb and haven't received AOR or SA yet!

Did you try calling CIC call center? They will be able to tell you if they got your app, started to process it, etc. You may also get a UCI # from them, or at least the file #. You might have just forgot to include your email address, so there is no reason to worry.

    FEBRUARY 2015 OUTLAND

For those Feb applicants, who still haven't heard anything from CIC: - do try calling CIC. you will eventually speak to an agent, who will be able to give you information. - they run slower than dates shown on website. We are Feb 13th applicants, got AOR on April 7th (no email), got SA on May...

    FEBRUARY 2015 OUTLAND

Do you get to see SA status in Ecas? Or it just shows decision made? I think I might have left email out as well, accidentally. I can log in and see details on my file with UCI. AOR was April 7, and there is no update on Ecas just yet.

    Processing time too long?

Не за что! :) Hope it helps you guys! I know it's really difficult, but try to keep positive thinking. This is truly a waiting game in the dark. This forum is a great help, but sometimes seeing how fast others go provides food for all kinds of bad ideas. CIC gets over 3000 apps per month, some...

    Processing time too long?

Whoa, I can see a funny word in your nickname :) What time did you try to call CIC? I got the same message when I called later in the day. However, when I called them super early in the morning (7 - 8 am Toronto time), I got through within 6 minutes. Our situation was kind of the same: app...

    TRV while sponsorship in process

Yes, but what do ties mean to CIC when we are in sponsorship process? We will end the ties anyway, once he gets his PR. The point is that we really want everything to be clear and legal, that's why we do it step by step. What else can we show to prove we are solid to stick to the legal plan...

    TRV while sponsorship in process

Hello all, I am Canadian citizen currently living abroad for 2 years. I got married in 2015 and applied right away as a sponsor for my husband to come to Canada. We are in the beginning of process and it will take about 1-1,5 years, probably. We are both employed in a country where we live...

    FEBRUARY 2015 OUTLAND

Hoooooraaay!!! You guys, I am so so happy today. I was finally able to get to CIC (calling from outside of Canada). We didn't have any news, no AOR, nothing, yet docs were delivered on Feb 13th. I was getting extremely worried about this. Today I talked to an agent. She confirmed the have our...
