Any Americans applying to a university in Canada this fall?

Just looking to see if how the other Americans' experience are with this process... I'm very new to the process and I've only just begun. I applied to Dalhousie of Halifax, Nova Scotia on Thursday, March 6th, and have started the waiting process. I'm eagerly waiting to get a response as I feel...

Still in beginning of process - some finance related questions

So I should probably just fill out everything I can in my Study Permit, get all the documents scanned/etc, and once I have my letter of admission and loan approval letter, I can quickly scan those and send them off ASAP? Because just thinking at the 10-12 week processing is starting to scare me...

Still in beginning of process - some finance related questions

Also, if I apply for Study Permit online, does the 10 week waiting period apply for the LA location? I assume it's still going to LA (or New York) and will take the same length of time? I thought maybe if it's online, the processing time would be shorter.

Still in beginning of process - some finance related questions

Thank you. I've been doing a lot of math to figure out how much I could get from the FAFSA (I'm happy that my school falls under the program for Americans to do FAFSA through them and are eligible for Stafford and Federal Pell Grants, atleast that's what I've been seeing). I filled out the...

newbie looking for direction to begin the process

Thank you. I've only been able to save up 10,000 on my own working a dead-end retail job. It really sucks how low the federal minimum wage is! I've looked into the program I want to do, and it looks like it's going to cost quite a bit per year. I'm estimating 32-35k a year. Yikes! But I hear...

newbie looking for direction to begin the process

Is there an entry-level forum for those just starting out on the process of applying for loans, universities/colleges, and study permits? I'm massively overwhelmed and would love to find some insight as to how others are working on this process because I don't want to clutter this forum with my...

Frustrations- not financially able to study in Canada

I have been on the verge of ripping my hair out at the frustration it's taken on me trying to find the best route for me to eventually move to Canada. It's either work or study. Well for work, I don't have the experience, and for some reason, everyone is yelling at me that it's impossible for me...
