GOT REFUSAL FOR MAY 2012 INTAKE..I WANT TO APPLY FOR SEP2012 INTAKE

Oops! sorry, my bad. The 50% thing was for SPP. I see you've already done SPP and are now going for general. If your friend got in with 42%, then I don't think you have a problem. Do what others have suggested and try again. Regarding the 50% requirement for SPP, I'm not sure of it.

    Ties to home country

'(THE ROCK)' has a point. The Canadian study permit is based on somebody else's "feelings". You just need to get lucky, I guess. For example, if one has prior education from a foreign country, it could be viewed as "oh, this person went abroad, completed his/her studies and came back... that's...

GOT REFUSAL FOR MAY 2012 INTAKE..I WANT TO APPLY FOR SEP2012 INTAKE

I cannot agree with the above poster that Lambton College being not very well recognised contributed to your refusal. But I do agree that your academics are not up to the mark and your English is poor (sorry!). Also, this may not be accurate but I read somewhere that you need at least 50% in all...

If both of you are completing IPRO and then pursuing a master's, no need to worry about PR. It'd be very easy. Why are you two wasting 1 year with IPRO? Why not go with master's directly? Is is difficult to get into a master's program directly?

    Ties to home country

Lol... how many countries can a person immigrate to exactly? It's not like we are "professional immigrants" or anything, spending all our lives immigrating to several countries. We have a life to live. Immigrating to one country itself is difficult. If Canada was so attractive to everyone in the...

Please suggest me what should i dO

I realise this topic is nearly 3 years old. I'd still like to know what happened though. Did you get your visa? Also, what do you mean "submitted only BS transcripts"? Which other transcripts are required?

International Student - Work permit, PNP & PR question

Also, a friend of mine completed a 1 yr PG certificate program and got a 1 year PGWP, not 8-month. What did your acceptance letter say? Length of program: 1 year or 8 months?

Regarding your master's question, yes, you may pursue your master's after this program. Just make sure you apply for your 3-year PGWP after you finish your master's and not after you finish your graduate certificate. A master's will definitely make you eligible for PR, no problem.

Guys, relax. I haven't thrown anything in anybody's pond. I'm just a newbie like you - I could be wrong. The above has been taken from Ontario's Provincial Nominee Program page. It clearly states that post-graduate certificate programs are eligible only if they require a previous degree or...

    Ties to home country

People applying for a study permit need to demonstrate that they intend to leave Canada by the end of their authorised period of stay, right? One's home country and Canada are not the only 2 countries in the world. Why can an applicant not simply demonstrate ties to some country other than...

I also noticed that neither of these programs make you eligible for Ontario PNP. If you're interested in permanent residence, avoid these programs.

    consolidated marksheets.

'canigotocanada' is right. On the VFS Canada website, they've specifically mentioned that they won't be accepting consolidated mark sheets. But hey, if your university doesn't issue semester-wise mark sheets at all and they're willing to give you that in writing, then I think it should be okay...

    Work Permit Confusion

As per my understanding, the duration of one's post-graduation work permit depends on the length of the program and not on the total amount of studies. You are required to apply for your PGWP no later than 90 days after completing your program. If your program is officially 8-month long, you get...

What? So does it have co-op or does it not have co-op? I'm talking about IPRO, not ITP. I think after you're done with the 8-month coursework, you can either graduate or do a 4-month co-op and then graduate. And correct me if I'm wrong, but co-op work authorisation is granted only if it's an...

International Student - Work permit, PNP & PR question

Where did you get this information from, buddy? As far as I know, if an international student successfully completes a graduate certificate program of 1 academic year (8 months) which requires a previous degree/diploma AND has a permanent, full-time job offer in NOC 0, A or B, that student is...

Seems like a very nice little course! I believe it comes with an optional 4 month co-op? Are international students allowed to do this co-op?
