You do not need to be registered in Canada as an RN/LPN to qualify for immigration. As long as you are an RN/LPN in your country with at least one year of continuous experience and you meet the required points for immigration then you can start your application. Read the CIC website. You will...

True. Not the case 5 months ago as we were able to apply for registration in Ontario with the CNO and we are based overseas. However, I have heard stories lately that they started asking the applicants for proof of citizenship or landed immigrant status. So true.

Yes. Only those with BSN can become a nurse in Canada. to become an RN? NO. If your FSW is not approved yet and you do not have a tourist visa then there is no way for you to get the exam. In my opinion, I think it is better if you wait for the approval of your visa first before you apply...

You do not need the NCLEX to be able to sit for CRNE. You also will not be able to take it with just the diploma. You need to have a BSN degree to qualify to take the CRNE. It is only offered in Canada and not available elsewhere.

You do not need NCLEX for Canada; that is only for the US. What you need is CRNE if you want to practice as an RN in Canada. Everyone has to take the CRNE before they can practice; nursing is a regulated profession so there is no exception.

What Does This Statement Mean From CIC

Must be a typographical error on the part of the writer. Indeed it should say "NO" record. It is most likely this one though. They have received your application but was sent back to you due to incomplete information.

CIO gave me AOR within 55 days. Here is how...

no need to have it certified. just a clear copy of your passport will do. Handwritten or typewritten application form doesn't make a difference as well with regards to the approval time. Mine is handwritten and I got the CIO approval in less than two months as well. Approval time really...

if your other work experience within the last 10 years is under NOC classification 1, A and B, this is aside from the 38 approved job titles under the Ministerial Instruction of November 2008, then you can be given a credit point for that too.

mdarji: Really? They did not ask us to provide those when we applied to them last April. I guess this is an additional in their application requirements as I have heard some foreign nurses have been approved after applying for registration but cannot actually get a tourist visa to Canada to sit...

You need to have a BSN degree to be able to practice as an RN in Canada. Before ,they allow diploma holders from other countries to register as an RN but all that changed in 2005. They introduced a new rule that requires all applicants for RN registration to be a graduate of BSN degree...

Dyuls: Consultants are not immigration officials. I suggest you do your readings directly on the CIC website. They just told you that because it would be somehow easier if your job description is exactly the same as that mentioned in the CIC list. But as I've said, job description is more...

    FILIPINOS Applying for FSW Page.

Dyuls: Correction, the job title doesn't necesarrily have to be in the NOC list. More than the job title, job description should be the major focus of consideration when applying under FSW.

mdarji: Disregard your US RN license and the process on how you got it when applying for a Canadian license; these are two completely different things. Canada has its own pathway for nursing licensure. Char_bonel: Credential Evaluation is a mandatory requirement of some States in the US...

Yes. We need to study again for the bridging program... but that is only if the CNO decides that your curriculum is not matched with theirs. We cannot work as an RN while doing the bridging program, however, you can opt to register as an LPN so that you can work (as an LPN) while doing your...
