Sponsoring wife from outside Canada with PR card

It may be difficult. As your wife's intention is to remain permanently in Canada there is a high risk of her visitor visa being refused. Now I am not an expert in this, this is what I have understood from reading other posts on this forum.

Husband Sponsor Me to Immigration from USA, How Long to Wait??

No, I did not ask. When Buffalo has a backlog they may transfer your file to L.A, Detroit, NYC, Seattle or D.C - depending on what consulate is closest to you. You will receive a letter from Buffalo if they transfer your file.

    DMPs in Chicago!

I'm not sure how long it takes to get all the test results and reveiw the x-ray? Without knowing for sure, assume it will take DMP 1 week to complete the test results and send to Immigration. It will probably take Immigration about 30 days to receive, review and update your file. But again...

Husband Sponsor Me to Immigration from USA, How Long to Wait??

Hi Sarah, The processing time is different in each case. I believe the average processing time for Buffalo is 3-8 months, with 50% completed in 5 months. Hopefully Buffalo will transfer your case to a different Consulate as it will speed up the process. Buffalo seems to be a bit backlogged...

    DMPs in Chicago!

The DMP will do routine blood works, urine tests, check your hart and blood presure. They will test for HIV and ask a few questions about yours and your family's medical history. They will also do a lung x-ray. DMP will not discuss any of the results with you.

    DMPs in Chicago!

I went to Evanston-Rogers Park Family (Serafin Veramendi). Good office and friendly staff. Be prepared to wait for a long time though. The X-ray is not done in the office. After the medical exam you will be directed to a different office (can't remeber the address but it's somewhere Lincoln...

Processing Time for LA, NYC, Seattle, DC & Detroit

My application has been forwarded from Buffalo, NY to a different consulate for “expediting”. Does anyone have experience of what Canadian Consulates (in the US) may be faster/slower than others? Does anyone know of the backlog in NYC, Seattle, LA, DC or Detroit?

    need some advice URGENT !!!!!

Unless you plan on working you don't need a work visa. I'm not sure if there are any guidelines as to the funds, but I would think that as long as you can show a return ticket to your home country, credit card(s) and have some sort of plan to where and how you will live, you should be okay. You...

    Visa stamp

Canadian Immigration don't care about your US status. Your wife may only get problems with US authorities if she travels by air from a US airport or transit in the US.

    Visa stamp

Are you travelling to Canada by Air or Land? If you cross the border by land there will be no issues as you only stop at the Canadian border. If you travel by air you will have to show your passport and you may get problems with the US authorities. It all depends on what airport you are...

Illegal US status....applying for Candian residency

If you have lived in the US legally for 12 months which I assume you did as you had a F1 you can apply in the US. You status in the US will not matter for Canadian Immigration.
