Hi my background check also has been in process for a long time(around 1 year!!!) and it has not been finalized yet. i think the speed of this process depends on your country of birth and how fast they reply to canadian immigration request. totally i think they are slow these days! please...

Nilufar, are you sponsoring your husband inland or outland? it seems that we are in the same situation and also from the same country. these back ground checks I believe depends mostly on nationality. what do you think. If you are Iranian, is it possible to give me your email please. thanks

Hi Sarah, my time line is ver similar to yours except that I got AIP in July 2009. Have you been transfered to local office and after that receive AIP in Feb 2010 or you received it from Vegreville ? If so why after 11 months? however i am also waiting for final approval. good luck.

niceguy, i have not been transfered. i have received AIP and waiting for Backgroun Check to be completed. I am in Calgary. sometimes people get AIP and approval together! and sometimes there is a long gap between.

Niceguy, dont be confused and dont worry. you can can call them and ask about their timeline. We all should be patient. I have seen cases that have been transfered to local office and have been processed quickly. however I have received AIP but have been waiting after that almost 8 month now...

hi, Since your file has been transfered to local office, it means that they want to review it again and maybe with details. what is your local office? sometimes they reply rapidly and sometimes it takes time. Did you receive AIP?
