Hi Seniors,
i am a 5'10" tall guy and weigh in at 330 pounds, hence my BMI is very high.(no sugar/diabetes)
Can this be a reason on inadmissibility?
I am really worried about this. Can seniors please shed some light on this.
that's what i thought, because they did a dip stick that i know is used for checking various levels related to diabetes, just wasn't 100% sure that's what they check for. thanks!
Well, it's really my grandma. Under protected person's category, for PR. Her medical has been received, but she is 80 years old and has diabetes, and has had heart problems in the past. So we're wondering if she'll pass her medical exam!
the principal applicant for us is a type 1 diabetic and this was a worry for us. However we were advised that as long as you maintain regular checkups and your diabetes is stable, there shouldn't be a problem.
Good Luck x
Hello, does anyone know if there is another level of health check when you apply for citizenship?
Suppose somebody was diagnosed with diabetes or something alike years after becoming a PR,
is this person going to have trouble to apply for Canadian citizenship?
Just being overweight is a non-issue.
However, u mustn't carry the ailments that go alongwith it. Eg. *Chronic Diabetes.
*Normal high sugar, BP etc r fine. But, if chronic, u'll be subjected to additional tests. Findings of which shall be conclusive.
If the applicant have some permanent medical condition like Diabetes, and it is found during the medical, will CIC deny the application?
What are the conditions that they check during medical?
And for what reasons they reject?
Any experinces, any body?
Thanks.
In addition she should want to see her regular physician to address her abnormal testing and get screened for diabetes. There is a lot of kidney disease in the South East Asian community and a lot of it is tied to diabetes.
Agree that further testing is likely which any include a visit with a...
It depends on the medical exam and the assessment.
And I don't believe that 60% plus people in 50s has diabetes, B.P & thyroid ..... Where did you get this information?
...with stethoscope, blood pressure, ...
Then you go throw a thorax xray to look for contagious respiratory deseas and blood test.
Diabetes and blood pressure don't cause refusal. Only conditions considered to cause burden for health system may cause it.
All this to say that you don't have to...
oh man that's funny ! lol.
no i dont think you could get rejected for being overweight. if it makes you feel any better, people with diabetes get a PR, so you're far better than that being just slightly obese to put it in your words.
but i mean you really did make me LOL with that question...

my son is diabetic type 1. how fair are the chances of receiving PR. He is 7 years old.
I don't mind and I will disclose my HIV status to the panel physician. Howerev, I am not sure if I should answer yes to Statutory question. Diabetes and HIV are chronic diseases with diabetes having worse complications compared to HIV since HIV is quite managebale today.
If I had AIDs I would...
Sorry to hear about your child's medical condition.
I'm not an expert on these matters but someone I know (adult, primary applicant) has Type 2 diabetes and he got his PR a few months ago.
Good luck.
...already diabetic but i didnt revealed it thinking that i might be inadmissible and immmigration department also didnt informed me about my diabetes at that time. i recently received request for permanent residence medical examination and i went through all of them. my question is if this time...
