Family Sponsorship Application Help: Becoming common law

We're in military housing. They're aware I'm living here and he mentioned our plans before we were given the house. Maybe I can head to the MFRC and they can give me some sort of thing that says something like that. We do share a bank account.

My fiance and I are finally getting to the sponsorship bit! Big thanks to everyone who helped me on here when I was preparing to return from the States. To be honest, I have no idea if the sponsorship is the right thing to do. Oct. 9th was the cut off date for my visa, I applied for an...

Re: American Girl and Canadian Boy. UPDATED! I need a few more answers!

Extending my visitor status is what my fiance was thinking of doing if its possible. And to clarify, I went into this expecting nothing. I knew there was always a chance I could be turned down. Even now, they could boot me if they really wanted to. A quiet wedding is on the agenda, it's my hope...

Re: American Girl and Canadian Boy. UPDATED! I need a few more answers!

I made it home. I had a bit of trouble coming in. I sat in the office a bit while the immigration officer asked me alot of questions. I do have to mention that the little tip of saying that I'm visiting but was hoping for a 6 month approval was wrong. The officer wasn't happy about that at all...

We've been talking about hitting the courthouse and getting married on paper. It's a maybe right now, should I mention that? What should I say if they ask about me. I'm leaving the room I'm staying at and quit the job I had here. I can stay with a friend if I get a no and reapply for my old job...

Re: American Girl and Canadian Boy. UPDATED! I need a few more answers!

Thank you so much. Also last question! One of the responders said not to bring too much across the border. I have a big samsonite suitcase, a guitar, a computer bag, and an army pack. Could having too much luggage really make me seem suspicious?

Re: American Girl and Canadian Boy. UPDATED! I need a few more answers!

I'll talk to him and see if we can get a marriage license. As it stands, I think we'll wait till the end of the next year and work on getting common law. He doesn't mind the wait for me to work and neither do I. I'm picking up guitar, sewing, and I found out I can legally take distance courses...

Re: American Girl and Canadian Boy. UPDATED! I need a few more answers!

Yes, although I wonder if they'll be okay with common law if we're just going to be married end of next year. Even with that, I have to do at least one renewal. I don't have much to move over thankfully. And there's not much fibbing to be done. I wonder if it'll be a little easier if I have him...

Re: American Girl and Canadian Boy. UPDATED! I need a few more answers!

Thank you. I was just scared to quit my job and leave my current residence, go to Victoria, and be stuck because I didn't apply for a tourist visa. How do I renew my visitor status? Do I fill out an application or anything? I know I have to do it 30 days before it expires and I get implied...

Re: American Girl and Canadian Boy. UPDATED! I need a few more answers!

Hello everyone! I made a forum a bit ago asking questions originally for conjugal and school permits. We're saving up to get married. Here's my confusion. I was told by the members that I can enter with JUST my passport and get a new stamp every six months, renewing my visitor status. I just...
