Heehee, Vent. =) I think someone mentioned earlier in the year that there is a way to get the records of Vent. I can't find it tho. When it comes down to it, if your relationship is genuine and you provide all the evidence you can, it wont be an issue.

I just checked it today. We were expecting a decision closer to the end of the month so we haven't been checking it regularly. It was processed on Thursday, the 8th and the decision was made on the same day.

An RCMP check would be a criminal record check. They will check their data bases to find if you have any convictions or something similar. The CSIS background check is more thorough. They (with the assistance of law enforcement agencies from each country you lived in, I believe) will check to...

Where did you read information on the CSIS background checks?

As long as you can prove that your relationship is genuine it shouldn't be a problem. Just be aware that they may look a little closer at all the evidence you provide them. Good luck!
