    Visitor record

Yes you can ask to extend it when you come back in. You just have to tell the officer in the booth that is what you want to do and he will send you inside to immigration. The only thing though is when we did that we were told by another border officer it was something we could do. Just cross...

    Visitor record

From my experience leaving and coming back on a visitor visa that isn't expired yet and that you don't plan on surrendering at the border when you leave doesn't cancel it. You can keep it and try re-entry on it but it doesn't guarantee re-entry. So keeping it and trying to return on it doesn't...

    Visitor record

I ran into a similar issue last year with a visitor record. When I first crossed over into Canada with my husband (who is Canadian) we didn't think to bring our marriage license with us. So the border patrol officer was weary to let me just cross in and ended up giving me a 1 month long...

Pittsburgh PA and NO ONE is willing to do permanent residence photo!

I had my pictures done at Walgreens and all they did was use the "british" passport photo option in their system and it worked just fine. I don't know if that's something you might try or bring up! Good luck!

    It Gets Better

If you applied as an inland application I don't believe you are allowed to leave the country until the application process is complete. If you do it could put your whole application in jeopardy. If you did outland you could leave but from my understanding inland you aren't allowed to leave.

How did you meet your spouse?!

This is how my husband and I met too! It's nice to see someone else meet in the same game :) We were both in the same guild but didn't talk too much then the guild broke up and after that I would see him in the world and recognize him and we'd end up talking for a couple hours. It just went...

    B4 List of Goods Question

When I first arrived into Canada as a vistor I did bring a few things with me at that time like my clothes, my cat, my cat's things, and just a couple of appliances. They are still here with me obviously. I just recently received my CoPR and I'm preparing for the landing part of the process...

Just got engaged to an American and want to know how to...

There is absolutely nothing wrong with him coming up to Canada to visit and to get married to you. I would highly suggest making sure that there is some kind of family from both sides here though. I'm American and my husband is Canadian and when we got married in Canada I made sure my parents...

Yep! Decision Made was on June 9, 2015 and I just received the letter today June 15, 2015. They sent it to my sponsor's address though but I'm here on a visitor visa. If you aren't in Canada at the moment maybe check with your sponsor and see if they received anything yet. If not, I'm sure it...

Married PR applicant with tax question

Thank you both for your answers but I was wondering specifically for my taxes in US not Canada. I haven't worked in Canada so I was under the impression that I can't file US taxes in Canada. We have a tax specialist for his taxes for Canada but I was wondering more specifically for my taxes...

Driving into Canada in your own American car and staying there for one month

In my binder I always keep our marriage certificate plus our passports as first priority. Those things I always check to make sure I have in there when we are planning on crossing. I also keep the receipt I received from sending our application package in from Canada Post as well as the...

Driving into Canada in your own American car and staying there for one month

I, too, have shared your concern on this matter in the past. Luckily I haven't had it too bad at the border when crossing back. My husband and I are in Welland and we have had to cross over at the Buffalo border crossing often. Most recently being this past weekend when we came over to the...
