Yay I'm not alone! Hello everybody and good luck to you too :D

I ended up printing a copy and working on it by hand. Then when I was ready I just that that application in one go. Pretty tedious but I too was fed up of seeing that warning.

Anyone applying from the UK, they don't really do updates, it's just a case of looking and striking lucky. This year when it initially opened there were over 13,000 people trying to get a permit (a lady from the embassy posted on Facebook at the time). I don't know if they'll do it in stages...

You can easily do it from Canada. I did this year for my second one. Get your police certificate before you leave (or scan it into your computer) and then the rest you can do online.

I'm pretty sure she'll only be able to sponsor her partner and children. There's a whole page on the CIC website which outlines who can and can not be sponsored, I can't post links yet as I have "newbie" status but if you google "cic who can sponsor" then the CIC page will show up and show you...

I'm an October applicant ;D. Sent off my application on Friday so it'll be arriving in Mississauga on Monday I expect.

I finally sent off my application today. It probably won't arrive until Monday but I'm just so relieved to get it sent! The waiting starts now. :)

Awesome, I'll take a look and I'll keep my eyes peeled for that October thread. I'd like to say this is the last of the CIC applications but I bet we'll have to do Visitors again in the winter (I hope not!).
