I changed my course from a 1year course to a 2 year course a week after I landed. We can apply for extension of the student visa 3 months prior to the expiry of the visa. Your college can mostly guide you better on information regarding the extension.

I have heard that it is easier to get PR doing a 2 year course which comes with a 3 year work permit compared to doing a 1 year course which has only a 1 year work permit. Can anyone shed some light on this?
