Just a quick question to the people in the forum. If an applicant has already received the file number will it still take 8 months of processing time or 4 months?????

Does anyone know if the occupation under pressure list has changed. I think Alberta was planning on changing it April 15th. I hope chemical/material science engineering is still in this list

Oh shucks!!!! don't know when Alberta will start issuing nomination certificates. I will have to re-apply for all my PCC's (3 US states, FBI, UK and my homecountry) as they would expire in 2 months. It's crazy!!!!!

Did anyone else in the forum confirm with AINP if the 8 month process time is for all applicants or for people who are going to apply now. I am a pre-assessment candidate and still waiting for my nomination

Then you are saying that appliction processing will take 4 months inspite of them saying in the e-mail that it would take 40 to 60 days. In this case we should have received another e-mail saying that processing times for these applicants has increased isn't it?????

For all applicants who recieved their file numbers last month AINP stated that it would take 40 to 60 days to process the application. I am hoping this is still the case for these applicants. Just was curious. Any ideas or suggestion.

Any new nominations for this month. I don't think anyone has got nomination this month!!!

Since AINP has been changing the process times without much notice, I think it is better to wait for the nomination before applying for PCC's. Also has the federal processing times also increased. From other forums I found out that it typically takes 2 months to get AOR and request for medicals...

So looks like still no one has gotten any nominations from Alberta this month, even the pre-assessment applicants. I believe Canada is still going to maintain the intake of 240000 - 265000 immigrants in 2009 per the immigration minister although it is subject to change.

Mike053 I read your previous post regarding you having a lot relatives in Canada. What are their views about the current situation in Canada/Alberta. Is Alberta still having a boom or has the bubble burst??? Please let the forum know. I have some friends in Canada and their views seemed 50/50...

So looks AINP have started to send out nominations for the next bunch of applicants who have been assigned file numbers. This is good news. AINP is maintaining the 40-60 days timeline as mentioned in the e-mail. Hopefully everyone get their nominations soon and move on to the next step Cheers...
