    Some questions!

That's what I said whenever I re-entered Canada, and they still harassed me a few occasions. By harassed, I mean that they take into into a little room and interrogate you, threaten you, etc. It's a very unpleasant experience. I'd suggest carrying bank statements just to be on the safe side. I...

    Some questions!

Hey Soil, I couldn't reply to your pm because your inbox is full. Here's my reply: Flying/driving makes absolutely no difference when it comes to crossing the border. Since she's from a visa exempt country, she'll have no trouble getting into Canada. Just make sure she can justify her long...

    COMMON-LAW Partner Questionnaire - question 22, 23

They haven't asked, and I don't think they will. We recently got our initial assessment saying that an interview wouldn't be required, so I assume they were satisfied with our answer. Regarding the reason why the marriage hasn't occurred yet, I think it depends on your situation. My fiance and I...

    COMMON-LAW Partner Questionnaire - question 22, 23

Ugh. I hated answering those questions. They are clearly directed at married couples, not common law unions. In my case, I put that we intended to get married in a few years. So basically, we haven't had a ceremony because we are waiting until we can afford a proper wedding.

    Thread for December 2010 Applicants

That happened to me a few days ago. I was so excited when I saw the email that I actually woke up my fiance....I just had to tell someone! I couldn't contain my happiness; I was literally jumping on the bed. Then we logged in, and bam... nothing new. He went back to bed, and I went back to...

    Application returned from Mississauga

My common law application had numerous separations, i.e 1-2 months due to family obligations, and everything went through fine. I assume they don't have a cut-off time for separations. Crillz, You should definitely file a complaint. I'd wait until the sponsorship is approved and the file is...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

It's random, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't consider a best case scenario. There's quite a few people who got their PPR just 3-4 weeks after their initial assessment/AOR on the Buffalo spreadsheet, so there's always hope! ;D

    Thread for December 2010 Applicants

I was wondering the same thing. I still get flyers and stuff on the weekends, so who knows.

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

I really hope it's only 2-3 weeks until PPR after receiving initial assessment. I'm planning to turn my Buffalo trip into a little vacation!

    Application returned from Mississauga

You should definitely consult an immigration lawyer. I applied through Mississagua as common-law partnership a few months ago, and I didn't have any problems. My partner and I lived in my home country for quite some time --at my mother's house as well, and we included some of that time into our...

    Best Cell Phone Service?

As long as you stay away from Rogers, you'll be fine. I've had many terrible experiences with Rogers... I'm glad I switched not too long ago. Right now, I'm with Koodo/Telus, and it's been great!

    Relationship photographic proof

In my case, we sent pictures that really showed the passage of time. We divided them by season/special holidays: so spring, summer, fall, and winter. We even included four different Halloween costumes! I also change my hairstyle fairly often, so you can definitely see the time progression in the...
