    Carleton University Sep 19 intake

Not sure about MUN (although I've been to St. John's and visited the uni). But usually 30 credits for undergrad means 10 courses so we're talking about 2 years max program. 3 fall - 3- winter , 3-fall, 1 - winter. In Carleton , 3 courses were considered full time. Thats up to my knowledge...

    Carleton University Sep 19 intake

Back in my days, Carleton used to accept almost everyone with okay grades. Chances are high if they didn't meet their quota yet. Give it a try. Source : Carleton alumni.

CEC: Sub-contractor (for a company) & the "within 3 years"

I'm currently doing my Masters in Electrical and Computer Engineering in Montreal (almost done). The only option that I am aware of is the PEQ program. I'm taking French, possibly will pass the exam and get the CSQ. But it's taking up to 24 months for the PR to come after CSQ and I don't get...

CEC: Sub-contractor (for a company) & the "within 3 years"

Thanks PMM. Any chance that I can combine other work experiences I had before and become eligible for FSW? They will add up to 2 years of work in Canada. They were obtained during my undergraduate studies when I was on study permit . I was on payroll and but they were NOC A and NOC B jobs...

CEC: Sub-contractor (for a company) & the "within 3 years"

Hi. Will make it quick and easy to read: Does working as a full-time for over a year but as a sub-contractor with a company (they gave me T4A) count for CEC or you must be on the payroll in order to be eligible? Regarding the "within 3 years" , I worked there 3 years and 4 months ago. Would...

    Quebec Facilitated Process LMIA

Hey folks, You're probably familiar with the facilitated or simplified LMIA in Quebec. Since I'm finishing my studies (again) and will not get another PGWP, this may be a reasonable option to consider which will allow me to stay and work. On the website it says: - Employers don't need to...

Can I start an online business with student visa?

You're not a starting a shopping mall, you're building an eCom store. I wouldn't stress since generating sales is not easy. But to answer your question, I know people who did it and nothing happened to them as far as I know. Not sure about the legality though.

    Statement of purpose

Usually SOP should include your personal experiences . Look it up so you don't mix it with letter of intent. There are many samples online.

    Questions about accommodation.

I would rent a cheap Airbnb or hostel for the first couple of days. Meanwhile, I would check kijiji and make a list of potential places that fit my budget and go visit them once I arrive.

Scenario: CSQ in the pocket, PR application sent

Hey. Kodus to the active members in this forum. I was totally lost and now the path is clear. This is probably my last question. Here's the projected time line : May 2019: Transcripts are ready and I apply for CSQ June 2019: Get the CSQ . The day after, I'll submit the PR application. End of...

    LMIA for International Student case

Scylla- wouldn't this make sense to the government: this guy is already trained in this company for few months and therefore he's the most eligible for the job ?

    LMIA for International Student case

I'm doing my graduate studies in Quebec. I did my undergrad in Ontario (pretty much screwed myself up since now I am forced to learn french). We'll see how things go. I'm on it now. Thanks for the answer.

    LMIA for International Student case

Great answer. Thank you. I'll soon be doing an internship in my professors lab (more like an established start-up) . The plan is to ask him to offer full time job. It's a niche field (mircrofluidics) so hopefully he can get a positive LMIA for it since not too many people in this domain. I...

    LMIA for International Student case

Hi guys. Sorry it's the 3rd time I post this week but trying to draw a clear path since this is "The Year" for me. Recap: since I already obtained my PGWP and went back to school to do Masters, I technically have to leave when I graduate (this coming June,2019). Because PGWP is a one in a...

Credit Score - International Students, any effects?

I kept paying for two years and then my post graduate work permit expired so I applied for master's so I can stay in the country. I had no choice. Now any amount of money I make or receive I throw it in tuition because this is a priority now. Then will go back to pay the bank assuming...

Credit Score - International Students, any effects?

I made personal connections with senior employee in the bank and was able to convince him to give me a high line of credit with extremely low interest rate. Many people tried after I told them but it didn't work. Maybe I was just lucky to know that person.

Credit Score - International Students, any effects?

Hi folks, Couple years ago I had to take a loan to pay for my last semester for undergrad (total amount $12,000). I was paying my monthly fees until I was forced to go to Graduate School to extend my stay. So I started paying school again and bailed on the bank. Of course I was sent to...
