As per my info it can be between 2 to 6 month. Average 3months. depends on length of service/transfers/position held/any legal badges etc.

I had the similer situation. Better renew the passport under tatkal scheme. It takes just few days to renew passport. Then get police clearance with new passport and go for medical then. That's what I did. U wil have to renew passport anyway...it's better u send them documents updated with new...
