Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (H1B Holders) CIC Process

Nix1: You will have to make the photocopy of the notarized bc and notarized it (again) and send. The purpose of the notarized document is to ensure the photocopy is the same as true copy/original. This way, you keep the original (the translated, notarized copy) and you can send the photocopy...

Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (H1B Holders) CIC Process

I believe, there is no explicit rules that say you have to stay in h1b status throughout CIC process. Some members here opted to go back to their countries after AOR - and once they go back, they're no longer in h1b status.. Through earlier post, some said we have to notify both Alberta and...

Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (H1B Holders) CIC Process

I think there is no rule saying 30 days or so, you just have to transfer your h1b asap. Or... change status to F1 (or any other status - tourist, etc) and expect to stay here during the CIC process... This is what I'm doing currently, and I'm waiting for my F1 approval since my h1b will expire...

Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (H1B Holders) CIC Process

When is your H1b expires? Also, in I-797, the lower portion is the I-94... I submitted 3 pages of I-797 (with I-94 attached) and my original I-94 from my arrival in the US. One member submitted all his I-797s but still get his returned. He thought CIC overlooked the paper - another thing...

Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (H1B Holders) CIC Process

Jay007: Just a question... did you initially include your copy of I-797 and I-94 card? Because I initially included my I-797 but only the last one (valid from 9/08 - 5/09). Some other member had his I-797 expire on 4/09 and got inquired as well. Let me know. Thanks.

Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (H1B Holders) CIC Process

All: CIC returned my application forms. They request more evidence that I have been lawfully admitted to USA for a period of at least one year. And they have checkbox and checked for I-94 card as well as I-797 for H1b status. My H1b was from 9/2008 to 5/2009 -- (this is my 3rd one). I...

I'm still with H1b status working for same employer. I have filed paperwork 2 weeks ago to change status to F1 and start school on March 30. Hope everything goes as planned. As reporting to CIC - it doesn't say anywhere (black and white) to always update CIC other than our mailing address...

Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (H1B Holders) CIC Process

    1. Ok - so, getting medical is only done if CIC ask us to do so. So, this is pretty clear. 2. As for changing status, even in the AINP letter I received, any change of employment must notify AINP and CIC - I will notify both AB and CIC once my status change to F1 is success. This is the only...
