is your current work permit a closed one? if not..it doesn't matter even if you employer shuts down..u can still work till november, in case u had to apply for new jobs you can explain your new employer that your PR application is under process and you may get an approval anytime.

yes you can apply for open work permit. they will issue you 1 year of extension for your current work permit..i would suggest to apply 1 week before the expiration of your current work permit. it normally takes around 20-25 days for approval of work permit extension.

just call them anyway..don't tell them your exact date just say i applied in january. there is 70% chances that you may get to know the application status by them.

i am in the same situation. i don't think spouse has to show any proof of funds. but make sure that you do landing first only then she can do her landing.

i think this you are right. but make sure that the principal applicant does his/her landing first.

you don't necessarily need to call london visa office, call CIC help line and let them know your situation, they will guide you.

Agent will tell hundreds of things to mislead you. i have gone through that process. they just want to get you off their back and not bother them with you application update. i was asked for additional document on 17th june and i recieved my ppr on 12th july, although my case had some complications.

i read this post like 10 mins after i had already booked her flight for 1st august..i just hope i get my passport back in time to do my landing before her flight.. how long do u think they take in canada to return the passports?

this 5 working days means from the day we send our passport to vfs till we get it back? my wife has submitted her passport to vfs today..so shall i consider that i will be back by 21st july? coz i hv to book her fligth tickets and i really confused.
