Another question... In the passport request letter they require a “covering letter” that states no change in address. Does this have to be a formal letter? Does anyone have an example of theirs??

Our ECAS changed to decision made. However, my spouse has not received a letter of the final decision. The only thing he has received is his passport request and pre arrival letter. Is that strange?

Oh my gosh who knows. Everyone’s case is so different. Some have their ECAS change and then wait months for the passport request. For some it’s the opposite. Good luck!

ECAS has not changed to decision made though. The only thing that has changed is that they are processing his background check.

QUESTION My spouse got an email saying his letter has reached the final stage of processing and is asking for his passport to be sent to Vienna. He also got a pre arrival services letter sent to him shortly after. IS THIS GOOD NEWS???

Nothing new for us. Still no word since our file was transferred to Vienna on November 17th.

Our application was received at the Vienna visa office on November 17th and it says that they stated processing it on December 12th. Does anyone know how long it takes for background check to begin??

No.. he was 18 at the time. I just remember in an email when asking for sched A they said only a police certificate from the country where he currently lives is needed. I really hope they don’t return the application because of this.

In our email from CIC it specifically said to send a police certificate only from the country where we have spent most of our adult life since the age of 18 and that all others would be requested if needed.
