Landing - Not Having to Pay Duty on Household Goods - Goods Accompanying

Thanks torontosm, this really makes my day. You have a great weekend now. Btw, I now root for some Toronto/Canadian teams, like the Raptors, Blue Jays and Canucks in addition to the Kings (hockey), Dodgers, Thunder and Packers :p ;)

Landing - Not Having to Pay Duty on Household Goods - Goods Accompanying

Hey guys, I'm freaking out a little if someone can please help me out. My wife and I got married 4 months ago and I will be doing the landing process for my COPR by driving my car and all my goods in my car from the USA into Canada. My wife bought a whole bunch of household stuff (i.e...

Thanks Ponga. I don't closely pay attention.. but what does the 'X' across your photo mean from the kiosk printout?

PR Approved - Continuous Cohabitation for 2 Years the Day I become a PR

Oh man, that's good to know. Thanks for the heads up. I could say that on the CIC site it says that the average processing time is 14 months and hence was not ready for it to be approved so quickly. I hope that doesn't happened. But at the airport, I usually go to those electronic kiosks...

PR Approved - Continuous Cohabitation for 2 Years the Day I become a PR

My COPR expires May 13, 2017 - which is one year from when I had my medical exam. I'm a little worried because if I get my PR processed in Feb 2017, that's only 3 months from the expiry. Is Feb 2017 too close to the expiry date of May 13, 2017 where CIC will require me to get another medical...

PR Approved - Continuous Cohabitation for 2 Years the Day I become a PR

Thanks so much Ponga for the advice :) Yeah, I might as well wait until Feb 2017 to have my COPR letter and PR approval processed. Because even when I come in Nov, I have to fill out a customs form at YVR and it would look weird if it states on there I only plan to be in Canada for 2 days.

PR Approved - Continuous Cohabitation for 2 Years the Day I become a PR

Btw, it only took me 87 days from the time CIC received our Outland application until I received email notification that I was approved. Not bad, eh?

PR Approved - Continuous Cohabitation for 2 Years the Day I become a PR

To clarify, would I be in violation of the rule if I get my PR processed in Nov but don't actually start living with her in Feb 2017 that is?

PR Approved - Continuous Cohabitation for 2 Years the Day I become a PR

Hi All, I'm an American living in Cali and my wife is in my BC. I just got approved (woohoo!) and the COPR letter was sent to my wife and she read me this requirement: Under the amended regulations, certain spouses and partners are subject to the condition that they cohabit in a conjugal...

Spousal Sponsorship Interview Questionaires, Experience, Preparations

Yes, we did apply Outland as we sent the application to Mississauga. Wow, 2-3 months for both my wife to get approved as a sponsor and me approved as the applicant? That would be awesome!!! Man, I don't feel so bad flying compared to your journey. I've got to hand it to you. Thanks again.

JUNE 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

ImABule - Thanks.. I was finally able to read the sheets correctly. The first row isn't actually column headers.. instead there status/progress codes. It's the second row that is the column header which makes more sense. I saw one column with the first row being Stage 2 AOR but the second row...

Spousal Sponsorship Interview Questionaires, Experience, Preparations

ImABule - Thanks so much. That's music to my ears. I initially wanted to take ownership of doing the application but my wife saw my progress (and being a control freak) to over the application as her own 'fun' project.. but it was very well organized. I'm hoping the application and my PR gets...

Temporary Stay Strategy Until My Girlfriend and I Get Married

Thanks scylla! Appreciate your help. I will take your advice and ask for an extension of my tourist visa. By chance, do you know on the application to extend my visa if I have to provide employment information? At this point, would it be ok to say that I have a telecommute job? Otherwise, I...
