Ok, so depending on your nationality you have to follow different procedures for the police checks, right? I had to send my fingerprints and photocopies of identity documents to the Canadian Embassy in Mexico City, and they did the rest.

Right! Although eventually the CIC will judge if the application is complete or more support documents are needed. I was forgetting about the fees! Maybe it's not only nationality.
