Spoke to my lawyer - he confirmed that once we apply for PR from within Canada - the status is implied till the time a decision has been made. No further visa extention is required till the time CIC gives a decision. Please confirm if this is the correct understanding?

Thanks for your comment. According to what it says on my passport + visa, the visitor visa is valid for 6 months after entry into Canada. I will touch base with my lawyer to ensure the paperwork begins before the 6 month period ends.

My visa expired 7th July - but I believe I can stay on for 6 months post visa expiry date. Is this the case? When did your visa expire and when did you apply for another?

I am assuming the UCI number comes with the AOR. Since i dont have the AOR, no UCI # and therefore cant track in eCAS. I guess just need to be patient and wait! My lawyer is going to be contacting CIC for a status update - will keep you guys posted.

Have any of the applicants got AOR or OWP that applied 1st August? My application was received on 31st July and have not got any correspondence yet.
