they strictly consider US and CANADA to be NORTH AMERICA.. Go to any border and ask this question, you will have the answer... Even single entry visitors were allowed to go to US and enter again(which is no longer issued), simple reason, it's not an exit..

Going to US is not considered as an exit for canadian visitor visa
