no i mean they would apply from there. a lawyer recommended that their chances are better if they apply from there... anyway, does anyone have a recommendation on the best way to go about it?

right but that was the original problem - cutting up the pr card and then not receiving the certificate in time to apply for a passport would essentially cause me to not fly

maybe i mistyped, or you guys misunderstood. i am aware that i cannot enter the DR without the PR card. this is one of the points of this thread. anyway, i finished my oath and cut up the PR card. the lady said she will send the cert as soon as possible to avoid delays.

unfortunately, none of that. she did go to a special school however.. and i understand what you mean with her application. she's an adult. so she should. but she's a full dependent unable to conduct such business..

and im visiting dominican republic which is why i (passport of india) needed the PR Card (as it's visa-free with pr card) - without a pr card, i'd have to go through the hassle of applying for a tourism visa at their embassy

hey guys, other than the time it takes to process and the cost, is there anything else that separates the two? i.e does the regular passport give you a 10 year valid passport vs urgent passport would only give 5 or something like that?

oh and sure there are no problems coming back in without a passport, but its the going out of country that i will need the PR card for...
