    CPP-Ottawa

Thank you. I may as well send an unsolicited copy, if they haven't opened my file yet then it can't add to the process. For requesting notes, is there a practical difference between the electronic notes and the physical file?

    CPP-Ottawa

How well-connected is CPP-Ottawa to Québec's MICC? I'm in the interminable period of waiting for CPP-Ottawa to move on my file. Is there any benefit (or drawback) in submitting an unsolicited copy of my CSQ? I vaguely remember that a copy should be routinely transmitted, but it would be...

    Quebec applicants 2015

The same had happened to me. In Mississauga, I had been initially categorized as an inland applicant rather than an outland applicant. Fortunately, that was corrected after a call to the CIC call centre, and my application has since received Sponsorship Approval and been forwarded to the...

    Quebec applicants 2015

Québec is being quite prompt with the undertaking applications. I sent my application on Feb 9th, the credit card was charged on Feb 13th, and the CSQ was issued on the 19th. I received it (in Montéal) on the 23rd, after the weekend.

    OCTOBER 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

MICC is being reasonably prompt with undertaking/CSQ applications. Mine was mailed Feb 9th and was received a day or two later. MICC charged the credit card on the 13th, and issued the CSQ on the 19th.

Hands down the most often asked question from Inland applicants

This is coupled with an inland application being possible while out-of-status, without granting legal status itself. Like many other aspects of inland sponsorship, this is made worse with long processing times. This both increases the desire for foreign travel and increases the likelihood that...

Sponsoring new born child before landing

If your child is born in Canada, then he or she will be a Canadian citizen at birth by virtue of being born in Canada. You will not need to sponsor them for permanent residency. If your child is born outside of Canada, then citizenship will depend on whether either of the child's biological...

    OCTOBER 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

Sponsorship Approval received (Federal) on 20 January, 2014, with the file forwarded to the Ottawa visa office; this was for an application received on 23 October. I'll update my entry in the spreadsheet shortly. How long is Québec taking for its portion of the undertaking approval? I don't...

I just got PR, can I sponsor my girlfriend who I live with more than 3 years?

As I understand it, the spousal sponsorship class is exempt from the "excessive demand" restriction; this includes common-law and conjugal partners. See 38.2(a) of the IRPA. This does not apply to being a danger to public safety on health grounds.

    OCTOBER 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

As a followup to my own message, I've contacted CIC again. The agent noted that my AOR which said "in-Canada" class was consistent with their file, but that after I called on November 19th a note was added regarding the incorrect classification. This was received and processed on the 28th, at...

    OCTOBER 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

October 23rd, according to the AOR. I think that matches what Canada Post's tracking tells me, but I don't have that number handy at the moment. I currently reside in Canada, but am applying outland in response to the better processing time. For people in this situation, the applications are...

    OCTOBER 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

Okay, I'm off the phone with CIC. Oddly, my application was assigned to the Ottawa office (as it should be, since I currently reside in Canada), so there was no obvious explanation for why I received the inland sponsorship AOR. The nice agent marked the application for a follow-up from CIC...

    OCTOBER 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

I have just experienced the same issue, receiving an AOR in e-mail that refers to an in-Canada sponsorship. Unfortunately, at this moment the CIC call centre is hanging up rather than transferring to an agent.
